Dig dig dug

So despite the amount of rain we’ve had in March and April it’s drying up now so it’s an ideal time to get stuck in! It’s pretty hard work but with a good spade you can slow but steady progress. I use A 10inch stainless steel spade, it’s smooth surface makes easy work of even the stickiest ground.

in the past I’ve covered over my plot in the winter in the hope that it keeps the ground dryer and suppress weeds, but I find that the best way is to dig in late summer and autumn adding lots of manure and let the worms do their job!

With luck this plot will be ready next weekend to plant potatoes.
